Here we give you a guidance on their tour with the information that we believe may be of your interest. The information is indicative, may exist variations on designated hours.
TRANSFER from the airport, if you have it included or purchasing. Our transfer will be waiting for you with a poster on behalf of Europamundo or its name to the output of the custom (after collecting your luggage)..
Remember to inform us by phone if you lost your connection flight or expected delay of their arrival, in your VOUCHER figure the phone of the transfer.
IMPORTANT: If you had additional nights upon arrival the hotel will have your reservation, but his travel guide normally will not be until the night before the start of the tour.
IMPORTANT: Please note that hotel check-in time is typically at 14:00 p.m. If you need early room access, consider booking an additional night at the start of your trip.
If you have booked additional nights, your room will be prepared upon arrival, but your trip guide will generally only contact you when the scheduled activities begin. At reception, you’ll find a sign with contact details and assistance hours for our staff. Until the tour begins, your schedule is free, and the hotel staff can assist with any inquiries.
Optional activities: During your trip, your guide may offer optional activities. We recommend booking these activities well in advance through the Europamundo app or your "My Trip" link to ensure availability. Last-minute bookings may result in limited availability (e.g., tickets, coach seats).
Note: The timings in this itinerary are indicative. The guide may adjust schedules as needed to make sure you have the best experience.
We´ll embark on a city tour guided by a local expert, covering prominent sites such as the Presidential Mansion, the Panathenaic Stadium where the first modern Olympic Games were held, the National Library, and the bustling squares of the city center. We´ll also explore the newer neighborhoods that developed after the 2004 Olympic Games. The tour will conclude at the Acropolis (admission not included).
In the evening, we´ll provide a transfer to the historical neighborhood of Plaka, renowned for its charming Greek tavernas and vibrant atmosphere where you can experience the rich folklore of this country.
Landscapes: Beautiful sea views. Fantastic landscapes of the Meteora.
08:00 a.m. - Departure from Athens. We’ll travel to the Peloponnese region.
09:15 a.m. - Stop at the Corinth Canal, an impressive engineering marvel from the end of the nineteenth century that links the Isthmus of Corinth with the Aegean Sea, facilitating maritime transport.
09:30 a.m. - Departure from the Corinth Canal. Once on the Peloponnese Peninsula, we’ll continue travelling through the mountains.
10:45 a.m. - Tripoli. We’ll stop in the vibrant capital of the Arcadia region, with time for a stroll around Aeros Square with its cafes and restaurants.
11:45 a.m. - Departure from Tripoli.
01:45 p.m. - Olympia. We’ll have time for lunch and then we’ll visit the archaeological site (admission and guided tour included), the place where the first Olympic Games were held in 776 B.C., with athletes from all over Greece and its colonies participating. Highlights include the Temple of Zeus, the Stadium, the Gymnasium, and the Arena. After the visit, you’ll have free time. If you wish, you can visit the museum (not included).
04:45 p.m. - Departure from Olympia. We’ll enjoy mountain landscapes and pass through some picturesque villages on our route.
06:45 p.m. - Patras. We’ll arrive in the third-largest city in Greece, a lively port city with a remarkable medieval fortress. Its cathedral is the largest church in Greece, and next to it is the small church of St. Andrew, a place of pilgrimage. Dinner will be included.
Scenery: We’ll journey through the heart of Central Greece before taking a ferry across the Ionian Sea.
Notes:
-Please bring warm clothing to enjoy the deck during the ferry crossing.
-Don’t forget your passport; you’ll need it when crossing the border.
-Keep in mind that Italy is one hour behind Greece. For example, when it’s 12:00 p.m. in Greece, it’s 11:00 a.m. in Italy.
-On the journey from Greece to Italy, the bus won’t be traveling with us on the ferry, so you’ll need to carry your luggage with you.
08:00 a.m. - Departure from Patras. After breakfast, we’ll depart Patras via the Antirrio River bridge, a spectacular suspension bridge connecting the Peloponnese with the Greek mainland. We’ll travel through the regions of Central Greece and Epirus.
11:45 a.m. - Igoumenitsa. We’ll have time for a stroll in this port town.
01:30 p.m. – Transfer to the port to board the ferry (departure scheduled for 02:00 p.m.) that will take us across the Ionian Sea to Italy. Enjoy the scenery from the deck.
09:00 p.m. (local time, one hour behind Greece) – Brindisi – Arrival, transfer to the hotel, and accommodation.
Scenery: Today, we’ll explore two spectacular and authentic towns.
Note: Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, especially for Matera.
09:00 a.m. – Departure from Brindisi.
10:15 a.m. - Alberobello. Enjoy time to explore this charming town, famous for its unique conical-shaped houses known as trulli . These distinctive structures, with their stone-stacked roofs, are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a remarkable example of Italian rural architecture.
11:15 a.m. – Departure from Alberobello. We’ll head into the Basilicata region.
01:00 p.m. - Matera. Arrival in this breathtaking city, renowned for its ancient historic center and the Sassi di Matera, a network of ancient dwellings and structures carved into the rock, dating back thousands of years. Matera is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest continuously inhabited human settlements in the world. You’ll have time to explore and enjoy lunch.
03:30 p.m. – Departure from Matera. We’ll continue through Basilicata and Campania, taking in the beautiful mountain landscapes.
07:00 p.m. - Naples. Arrival in the evening. We recommend taking a stroll through this impressive city.
Scenery: Mountainous interior of the volcanic areas around Naples and the stunning coastline.
After breakfast, at 8:00 a.m., we’ll take a 45-minute ferry ride from Naples to Capri.
08:45 a.m. - Capri. We´ll arrive at this island, famous for its natural beauty and luxurious lifestyle. You’ll have the option to take a boat to the Grotta Bianca or ride the cable car up to Capri town to visit the Gardens of Augustus, offering panoramic views.
12:30 p.m. – Departure from Capri back to Naples.
01:15 p.m. - Naples. Enjoy some time to explore and have lunch in the capital of Campania.
03:00 p.m. – Departure from Naples.
03:30 p.m. - Pompeii. Arrival and guided tour (tickets included). We’ll delve into the history of this once-thriving city that was buried under ash and rubble when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD.
05:30 p.m. – Departure from Pompeii.
08:30 p.m. - Rome. Arrival at the end of the day.
The tour will end in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican. For those interested, our guide will offer an optional visit after the tour, allowing you to explore St. Peter´s Basilica and the most outstanding rooms of the Vatican Museums, including the Sistine Chapel, in more detail. At times, depending on the season and visitor traffic, the optional visit to the Vatican may occur before the included panoramic tour.
Free time in the afternoon.
Note: Please be aware that the hotel check-out time is usually 10:00 a.m. You can leave your luggage in reception upon check-out, allowing you to explore the city without carrying your bags. You can retrieve your luggage at your convenience later in the day. If you require additional time to use your room, we recommend booking an extra night at the end of your tour.
