Introduction
Dear Traveler: thank you for choosing us to perform this Tour! We hope you enjoy your trip.
Here we give you a guidance on their tour with the information that we believe may be of your interest. The information is indicative, may exist variations on designated hours.
TRANSFER from the airport, if you have it included or purchasing. Our transfer will be waiting for you with a poster on behalf of Europamundo or its name to the output of the custom (after collecting your luggage)..
Remember to inform us by phone if you lost your connection flight or expected delay of their arrival, in your VOUCHER figure the phone of the transfer.
IMPORTANT: If you had additional nights upon arrival the hotel will have your reservation, but his travel guide normally will not be until the night before the start of the tour.
07:00 p.m. – Meeting in the hotel reception. Transfer to the Esquilino area, one of the most iconic parts of Rome, located between the grand basilicas and Roman archaeological sites. Dinner will be included. Later, we’ll provide a return transfer to the hotel.
IMPORTANT:
-Please note that hotel check-in time is usually at around 02:00 p.m. If you require earlier room availability, consider booking an additional night at the beginning of your trip.
-If you requested additional nights, your room will be ready upon arrival at the hotel, but your trip guide will only contact you when the included activities begin. At the reception, you will find an information sign with our staff’s telephone number and hours of assistance. Until then, you have free time to enjoy at your leisure. The hotel staff can assist you with any information you need.
Note: The schedules provided in this itinerary are indicative. The guide may adjust them as needed to enhance the trip experience.
By bus, we’ll pass by Circus Maximus, the Basilica of Saint Mary in Cosmedin with with the Bocca della Verità (the Mouth of Truth), the Republican Temples, the Baths of Caracalla, the Aurelian Walls, the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran, the Minor Basilica of Saint Mary in Domnica alla Navicella, the Pyramid of Cestius, the San Paolo Gate, Tiber Island, Lungotevere Avenue with its Babylonian-style Jewish Synagogue, and Castel Sant´Angelo.
This tour will conclude around 12:00 p.m. at Vatican City. Our guide will offer an optional visit to St. Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museums, and the Sistine Chapel in greater detail. The afternoon will be free.
Scenery: Beautiful coastal landscapes. We recommend bringing your camera.
07:30 a.m. - Departure from Rome. We’ll head north through Italy, enjoying the scenic landscapes along the way. There will be a stop at a service station on the highway.
12:00 p.m. - Pisa. We’ll take a train from the bus parking area to the historic precinct. You’ll have free time to visit the impressive monuments of Pisa, including the Leaning Tower, the Baptistery, and the Cathedral. There will be free time for lunch after.
02:15 p.m. - Departure from Pisa. We’ll continue along the Mediterranean coast, passing the mountains that are white with Carrara marble, giving the illusion of snow.
04:45 p.m. - Santa Margherita Ligure. We’ll board a boat for a 20-minute journey to Portofino, one of Europe’s most exclusive spots. Enjoy free time in the beautiful city of Portofino. Afterwards, we’ll return to Santa Margherita Ligure, a charming coastal town, where you’ll have free time to explore.
Notes:
-We’ll arrive in Portofino by boat. It’s recommended to have warm clothing handy to enjoy the ride on the deck.
-Due to the high number of tourists, there may be long lines for the tourist train in Pisa. In such cases, we suggest walking to the monumental site, which is approximately 900 meters away.
- Occasionally, due to weather conditions, the boat to Portofino may not operate in winter. In such cases, additional free time will be provided in Santa Margherita. Alternatively, you can reach Portofino by public microbus (please keep in mind that the service can be limited, and there may be longer waiting times).
07:15 p.m. - Departure from Santa Margherita.
07:45 p.m. - Genoa. Enjoy a brief free time in the city center, known as the birthplace of Christopher Columbus and a historic commercial hub.
Scenery: We’ll see mountainous landscapes with snow-covered peaks and large alpine lakes, surrounded by charming villages.
Note: Please have warm clothes handy, as you may need them for the boat rides included in the trip.
08:00 a.m. - Departure from Genoa. We’ll take the highway toward the great lakes, heading to Lake Orta, often considered Italy’s most beautiful lake due to its secluded location and smaller size.
10:30 a.m. - Orta de San Giulio is a stunning, well-preserved medieval town on the lake´s banks. In the middle of the lake, you´ll be drawn to San Giulio Island with its impressive monastery. We’ll take a tourist train to the town center, then board pre-arranged boats to the island. You’ll have free time to explore and soak in the local atmosphere.
12:30 p.m. - Departure from Orta de San Giulio.
02:00 p.m. - Milan. Enjoy free time in the city center for lunch and to explore the elegant downtown area, including shopping malls and the Gothic cathedral.
05:30 p.m. - Departure from Milan. We’ll pass through the Po Valley industrial area.
08:00 p.m. - Verona. Free time for dinner.
Scenery: Experience a stunning entrance to Venice via the great bridge.
Verona - You’ll have free time to explore the city of Romeo and Juliet.
11:00 a.m. - Departure from Verona.
12:30 p.m. - Venice. We’ll take a boat transfer to St. Mark’s Square, where we’ll meet our local guide after lunch. Our tour will include a walk through St. Mark’s Square, where we’ll see famous landmarks like the Basilica and the Campanile. We’ll also visit a renowned Murano glass workshop to see the artistry of glassblowing. You’ll have free time afterward; perhaps you’d like to take a gondola ride?
07:30 p.m. - In the evening, we’ll provide a transfer to the hotel, usually located in the Mestre area or nearby.
Scenery: We’ll travel through the Apennines Mountain Range.
08:00 a.m. - Departure from Venice.
11:15 a.m. - Florence. We’ll stop at the Michelangelo viewpoint for one of the most beautiful views of the city. You’ll have free time for lunch. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a city tour with a local guide in Florence, one of the world’s most renowned cities for art and history. The tour will be a walking tour through the historic downtown area and will last approximately 2 hours.
After the tour, you’ll have free time. We recommend exploring the artistic downtown, including the Ponte Vecchio with its shops and the city´s majestic squares.
Scenery: Enchanting landscapes of Tuscany and Umbria, picturesque villages along the road, and historical cities.
Note: Please bear in mind that proper attire is required when visiting the Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi.
08:00 a.m. - Departure from Florence.
09:15 a.m. - Siena. Enjoy free time to explore this historic city, its shell-shaped square, and its Duomo.
11:45 a.m. - Departure from Siena.
01:30 p.m. - Assisi. Free time for lunch. Following lunch, we´ll visit the Basilica of Saint Francis with a tour led by either a Franciscan monk or a local guide.
04:15 p.m. - Departure from Assisi.
06:45 p.m. - Rome.
NB : remember that on domestic flights, the luggage normally allowed is one suitcase of up to 20 kg in the hold. Passengers must pay for all excess luggage directly to the airline
Scenery: Northern Sicily’s landscapes and the Tyrrhenian Sea coast.
08:30 a.m. – After breakfast, we’ll depart from Palermo, following the scenic Tyrrhenian Sea coast.
10:00 a.m. – Castelbuono. We’ll stop in this quaint town nestled in the mountains where you’ll experience the peacefulness of the inland villages and admire the town’s medieval walls, castle, and picturesque streets.
11:15 a.m. – Departure from Castelbueno.
11:45 a.m. - Arrival in Cefalù, a charming coastal town renowned for its Norman cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with unique architecture and stunning mosaics. The historic center is a delightful mix of narrow streets, sea views, and commercial and tourist life. You’ll have time to explore and enjoy lunch.
03:30 p.m. – Departure from Cefalù. We’ll leave the coast behind and head into the mountainous interior.
05:00 p.m. – Arrival in Tindari, where we’ll visit the Sanctuary of Tindari, perched high on a mountain with stunning views of the sea. This renowned pilgrimage site is home to the Black Madonna and offers breathtaking scenery. Nearby, you can also explore the ruins of an ancient Greek polis.
06:00 p.m. - Departure from Tindari.
06:45 p.m. – Arrival in Milazzo, a bustling port city with views of the volcanic Aeolian Islands.
Scenery: Boat trips to the volcanic Aeolian Islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Notes:
-We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and swimwear if you plan to experience the mud baths in Vulcano.
-Due to variations in hydrofoil schedules, the timing of this stage may change.
Our day will be brimming with excitement as we set off to explore the mythical islands that bring to life the legends of Greek gods and heroes. Named after Aeolus, the god of the winds, this enchanting archipelago awaits us. We’ll visit two of the Aeolian Islands, recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites due to their continuous volcanic activity.
08:00 a.m. – After breakfast, we’ll head to the port to board a hydrofoil boat to Vulcano, with departure scheduled for 08:30 a.m.
09:20 a.m. – Arrival in Vulcano, the legendary site where Hephaestus, the forger of Zeus’ thunderbolts and Poseidon’s trident, had his forge. The island is permeated by the smell of sulfur and features active fumaroles. Dominated by its crater, Vulcano is known for its hot water beaches and sulfurous thermal baths, with mud renowned for its skin benefits. Don’t miss this unique experience!
11:40 a.m. – Departure from Vulcano. We’ll board another hydrofoil boat for a quick trip to our second island.
11:50 a.m. – Arrival in Lipari, the largest of the Aeolian Islands, named after the son of Aeolus. You’ll have time to enjoy lunch and explore the most charming island in the archipelago, with its historic center, castle, and lively tourist atmosphere.
04:10 p.m. – Departure from Lipari. We’ll head back to the island of Sicily by boat.
05:10 p.m. – Arrival in Milazzo. From here, we’ll continue our journey to Taormina.
07:00 p.m. – Arrival in Taormina, marking the end of the day. Dinner will be included.
Note: During the summer or on special dates, accommodation may be arranged in Messina instead of Taormina.
Scenery: Inland Sicily, Mediterranean mountain landscapes.
After breakfast, enjoy a stroll through the enchanting city of Taormina, situated at the foot of Mount Etna. Winston Churchill once described it as “the most beautiful place on earth.” It has a lively old town, with a Greek theater that is beautifully set against the breathtaking landscape.
11:00 a.m. – Departure from Taormina as we head toward the island’s interior.
12:45 p.m. – Arrival in Caltagirone, a city designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its rich Baroque heritage. You’ll get to ride a little tourist train (included), where you’ll learn about the city’s rich history and key landmarks. Caltagirone is also the ceramic capital of Sicily, as seen in its numerous shops, workshops, and iconic sites, including the famous 142-step staircase, each step uniquely decorated with colorful tiles.
03:00 p.m. – Departure from Caltagirone.
03:45 p.m. – Villa Romana del Casale (admission included). You’ll go on a tour with a local guide to get to know this World Heritage Site, a remarkable example of a Roman villa, showcasing the grandeur of agrarian life in the Roman Empire. The villa’s 4th-century architecture is exceptionally well-preserved, and its mosaics, which decorate nearly every room, are among the most beautiful in the Roman world.
05:15 p.m. – Departure from Villa Romana del Casale as we continue through the mountainous interior of the island.
07:30 p.m. – Palermo. Dinner included.
09:00 a.m. – Today, we’ll embark on a guided city tour of Palermo with a local expert. Highlights include the cathedral, famous for its blend of architectural styles and royal tombs (admission included), and the Palazzo dei Normanni, a former royal palace with fountains, markets, and gardens. We’ll also visit Monreale to see its cathedral (admission included), a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its breathtaking golden mosaics that adorn the entire interior. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure.
Note: For smaller groups, the tour may be conducted as part of a regular excursion offered by local companies instead of a private tour.
Note: Please be aware that the hotel check-out time is usually 10:00 a.m. You can leave your luggage in reception upon check-out, allowing you to explore the city without carrying your bags. You can retrieve your luggage at your convenience later in the day. If you require additional time to use your room, we recommend booking an extra night at the end of your tour.
